I wanna start a discussion with you all about the transition of technology from the realm of function and consumerism into the realm of art.
Is it now possible to experience the feeling of the Sublime, that we may traditionally associate with a renaissance painting or sculpture or with a transition in a piece of operatic music, through technology like an interactive installation?
Immanuel Kant defined the Sublime as: “we call that sublime that which is absolutey great” and “boundless”. “Subduing one’s passions through principles is sublime.”
So what do you guys think? Can we now obtain the sense of the sublime through technology and if so is it possible to predict or formulate the interaction to produce this sensation?
