New Transparent Stone Material for Cooking

Recently came across this natural transparent stone material during my trip to Asia. It has a quartz like characteristic and can be used as a surface for cooking food. There are already stone grills made with such material in Asia. I would like to introduce this material to the North American market but have been advised to have it approved by the CIFA or FD before going any further. Does anyone have any experience dealing with either the CIFA or FD while using a new material to design a cooking device or utensil? Please point me to the right direction. Will upload pictures of this material once the sample has arrived. Thanks

I’m not sure, but you might be talking about a “Mongolian salt block” or “Himalayan salt block” in which case, they already sell those here in places like Williams & Sonoma.
