The Scroll Chair designed by XU Gongwei got the Grand Prize of “DESIGNED IN CHINA: The Rado Young Design Prize”, a competition organized by 100% DESIGN Shanghai and the world-renowned Swiss watchmaker RADO, the prototype has displayed at the 100% Design Shanghai event in November 2010. The Scroll Chair concept come from the traditional Chinese scroll of painting and calligraphy, the Involute curves structure provide good elasticity and support. The seat part could be bented stainless steel, or carbon fibre and extruded PC. The chair looks very simple and elegant, and it can be used indoor or outdoor.
