I was in 9th grade when this concept came out and I remember living reading about it in Motor Trend. It was so different compared to everything else in 1989 and had all of these interesting features like side mounted storage coolers that could pop into the doors.
Looking back on it, it presaged the mini cross over segment. This is basically a Hyundai Kona.
