I’m a big fan of crowdfunding and try to keep track of any new designs coming out, especially relating to bikes. Last year I tried to get in on the Veloloop controller that timed traffic lights.
The best kickstarter I’ve found to date is company selling handmade wooden mudguards. Cam Cycles have made some pretty bespoke designs but again I’m not sure if they’ll hit their goal.
Can the cycling community recommend any good crowdfunders, interesting bike pieces or help these guys, so I can finally get something original on my ride?
We try to keep the “Discussion Forums” focused on the design process (conceptual development, presentation, process, business aspects, etc.) vs. the “final product”.
Also think it has to deal with the account only having one post and posting a kickstarter link right off the bat. He has given zero benefit to this community. So why should he expect the community to give back to him.
I did start a kickstarter thread in the main discussion area. So maybe thats a bit more acceptable there.
@lmo - Apologies, didn’t mean to misuse the forum, just assumed kickstarters were okay because of the rest of the site. Can remove thread if you’d prefer that?
Yep I agree it did look pretty suss for a first post. I even checked the links to see if they were same people/name/area if he was just trying to be sneaky.
jon - I dont carry those tools but hate the use of those multitools that do everything poorly. I have one of these - http://www.topeak.com/products/Tools/RatchetRocket It has a ratchet mech in it and it’s soooo much nicer too use.
