Best Cycling Kickstarters

I’m a big fan of crowdfunding and try to keep track of any new designs coming out, especially relating to bikes. Last year I tried to get in on the Veloloop controller that timed traffic lights.

The best kickstarter I’ve found to date is company selling handmade wooden mudguards. Cam Cycles have made some pretty bespoke designs but again I’m not sure if they’ll hit their goal.

Can the cycling community recommend any good crowdfunders, interesting bike pieces or help these guys, so I can finally get something original on my ride?

I’m really tempted to ban you for posting what is essentially SPAM.

I thought these guys did really well with minimal and light tools for bikes https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/fixitsticks/fix-it-sticks-a-fantastically-unique-bicycle-multi

Friendly question - Is there much difference between this and core posting kickstarter articles on the homepage?

Friendly answer: Yes.

We try to keep the “Discussion Forums” focused on the design process (conceptual development, presentation, process, business aspects, etc.) vs. the “final product”.

Also think it has to deal with the account only having one post and posting a kickstarter link right off the bat. He has given zero benefit to this community. So why should he expect the community to give back to him.

I did start a kickstarter thread in the main discussion area. So maybe thats a bit more acceptable there.

They’re so much smaller than anything I’m carrying at the moment, might have to look into it. Just found this multi-tool as well, might try and combine them/keychain one WOKit™ - Carabiner Multi-tool for BICYCLE/SKATEBOARD/DAILY by WOHO Bike — Kickstarter

@lmo - Apologies, didn’t mean to misuse the forum, just assumed kickstarters were okay because of the rest of the site. Can remove thread if you’d prefer that?

Thanks for that. Appreciate it.

Yep I agree it did look pretty suss for a first post. I even checked the links to see if they were same people/name/area if he was just trying to be sneaky.

jon - I dont carry those tools but hate the use of those multitools that do everything poorly. I have one of these - http://www.topeak.com/products/Tools/RatchetRocket It has a ratchet mech in it and it’s soooo much nicer too use.

I did not write this mas. If you’re going to quote someone please try to be accurate. Thanks.

Whoops fixed now. It was a quote within a quote within a post so I accidentally deleted wrong tags.
