sheet metal fabrication

does anyone know of any clever ways to join sheet metal together with using any mechanical or chemical fixings ie. screw, revits, spot wel ect.

Not too sure if this process exists but I can think of folding the edges of the sheet metal together… pressing I suppose.

books (especially OLD ones) are, IMHO, still the best source for sheet metal design details.

‘Notches and Hooks’
Prior to the advent of welding the blacksmiths of yesteryear used notches to hook their furniture together. By studying the 17th century day bed and other works one starts to understand some unique problems that were solved by black smiths 200+ years ago.
