I have a client who wants to use the matte top surface of the white Apple TV as reference for the white product we are developing for them. The product in question will be injection molded in ABS and due to cost constraints, we have no possibility of painting or otherwise treating the surface. I compared the Apple TV surface to a Charmille chart, but it didn’t really match up to anything.
Is the matte texture of the Apple TV achieved in-mold or is it painted? What material is the Apple TV? Any ideas on how to match the surface solely with ABS plastic and EDM surfacing?
