Earlier in the year I purchased some software from an online vendor and received this chip with my invoice.
I couldn’t believe the note along with the pointless waste and disregard.
They have some agreement with microsoft (i purchased xp and office) that requires them to ship this hardware with purchases.

who’s the vendor? I’m going to send them all my old ram so they can “recycle” it.
Somehow I don’t think MS would be too happy with this “clever” skirting of the OEM software sales requirements.
Years ago, when ram sticks were smaller, people would use them for geeky keychains. Perhaps if you have a public bathroom you can use this stick on the keychain to keep the key from walking.
