Applications open for unique 4-wk. program in Italy Feb.2016

A special program in partnership with the Officine Arduino, Fablab Torino, and Casa Jamina communities held in Turin, Italy. Conducted by award winning instructors Sitraka Rakotoniaina and Andrew Friend.

“Can we create ‘connected devices’ that reflect the subtleties and complexities of our human nature? Can we fabricate objects that lead to the creation of new cultural norms? What role does ethics play in this?

In an intensive four week program, the participants of “Coming Soon” will explore how Internet of Things (IoT) technologies can used expressively to create mystery or aesthetic experience, rejecting the accepted manner of fortifying the mundane. To do this, participants will be equipped with the relevant skills in digital fabrication, electronics and design fiction methodologies needed to create and communicate their own vision of the future.
