ID Specific Degree

Hi,

I have an interesting situation. I realized I wanted to switch to industrial design a bit to late to changes school so I decided to chose to major in the closest thing my school offered: Digital Media and Design. This major teaches 3-D rendering software (like Maya and solidworks) , 2-D rendering, animation, and web design in one major. My question now is will employers only hire a candidate that has a degree in Industrial Design? Thanks for any help/advice!

the degree? perhaps not, the bigger question is will you lern enough about ID to get that job?

What about adding an ID minor? Or at least use some electives on ID classes?

Knowing how to render, animate and design web pages is great, and there is even a large industry for it, but ID is much more than the pretty pictures and models.
