Hello everyone, I need some advice I’m starting to pursue design as a career. Mainly i’m looking towards footwear design and would like to know what path is best to take… I see alot of people on here talk about industrial design but would fashion or graphic design get me to my goal? Thanks

I think that graphic design is the most far option. Industrial design is an option as many sport shoes are made by CAD (example Rhino, Solidworks…). If you do fashion design I think that the program should inlcude several classes of shoe design and foot ergonomy.
ID is clearly the way to go here, there are even sub-majors available - I don’t remember which school off hand…
ID, especially if you want to do more technical and athletic based footwear. But even the head of footwear design at Gucci has an ID degree.
